Introduction

Once you have completed the first component of new student orientation, you are ready for the next step-PAWS Preview! This kick-off program will introduce you to the programs, services, activities, people and traditions at Texas State. It's your chance to preview campus life and experience the excitement, Texas State-style!

What is PAWS Preview?

PAWS Preview is a transition program, designed to give new students at Texas State ‘just in time’ information that will help you be successful college students. After the completion of New Student Orientation, students will receive notification of the session they are assigned to attend. This is a required program for all entering freshmen with 0-29 credit hours. Your first year at a new university can set the tone for your entire college experience -- it's important to get off to the right start. At PAWS Preview, we'll provide you the tips and resources you'll need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

How does PAWS Preview work?

Details will be provided at PAWS Preview registration in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom. Late registration will be held at the Student Organization Information Desk on the 4th floor of the LBJ Student Center all other days. Reminder: all on-campus students should plan to be settled in to their residence halls and complete all off-campus business in time to attend the first PAWS Preview session. Paws Preview Co-Chairs will provide leadership and facilitate the activities for each Den. Co-Chairs are current students who have been in your spot, so they're an excellent source of support and information. Co-Chairs will keep you on track as you enjoy our PAWS Preview activities.

What about meals?

Students on a meal plan may use their plan or PAWS Points to purchase meals during PAWS Preview. Students without a meal plan must pay cash or use Paw Points for any of the meals.
